Day 4: the resting day!

Did nothing at all today.... so nothing much to fill the blog!

1. I slept for 15hrs straight... skipped breakfast and lunch! And Iam still sleepy...zzzzzzz....

2. Made plans of meeting friends this week. They are non-Delhites, so it is only once in a while that we get to meet.

3. Caught up on the missed episodes of 'The Amazing Race'... the last 2 legs consisted of the beautiful countryside of France. I love this show, it takes you on an adventure around the world!

4. hmmmmmmm...Then I talked to my grand-mom... she is here in Delhi right now and is getting immensely bored.

5. Saw trailers of various movies... hadnt seen any in the last 2 weeks!

Back to sleep....zzzzzz.....

Day 3: and the fun continues!

1. Photos-ah! The camera is a such a wonderful invention. Going thru pics gives so much pleasure (because we capture only the happy moments...) flipping through old photo albums, and browsing through the new digital ones.
Also, uploaded my trip pics and my facebook notifications were full!
And here's my flickr pic (flickr is an amazing site for photography lovers!)

2. On my way to college, discussed 'places to visit' and exchanged travel experiences, with a 'mother of two' who loves holidaying! It is never too early and never too late to travel is what I deciphered. So, whenever you get the time, pack and go!

3. First day of medicine posting... we tried our best to be sincere students, but alas everything was against us- no patients, then no professors with free time, and no roster! Net result- lets go to Janpath- our one-stop destination for Food, water and clothes!!! This time went with friends who usually skip out of such outings- loved it!!! Oh! and I bought myself a 'Superman' shirt (have been trying to convince my brother to buy one for himself for the past 1 year, but he is one adamant person...)

4. Helped my friend figure out a gift-list for her boyfriend! Planning out surprises and gifts is fun!

5. Played with the kids (chunnu-munnus) in our society after a long time. The slides, the swings- i just love being with the kids. Then, my youngest friend (she is 16 months old) came over to my place and selected this assortment of toys for the day (all from the Mc-donalds Happy Meal collection that me and my brother collected!)... we played and then put them all (the doggies, the bears, jasmine and whatever the others were) to sleep....zzzzzzz......

And now I will try go catch some sleep......zzzzzzzzzzzz..........

Day 2: Loads of fun...

Tired to the core... yet happy!

1. Dad's birthday today! Gave him loads of Kitkats!!! He enjoyed it.... I love u Dad!

2. Had a talk with friend-cum-senior... feels wonderful when somebody tries to guide you on the basis of their experiences... friends make life a step simpler for us by sharing theirs! (was unable to complete the conversation-to be contd...)

3. Had the final class of surgery posting... took loads of pics in the opd (ignoring the patients- who were probably thinking- 'OMG! are these monkeys gonna treat us???')

4. Friend's birthday treat... after a long time all of us were together at one place.... caught up on loads of gossip! And we gave her a 'surprise' cake in central park (where btw eatables are strictly prohibited! but i think we gave a different meaning to the 'strictly' word!)

5. Spent loads of time with friends.... had lots of chocolate... and went shopping (not for me, but still shopping is shopping!)...

P.S Go have some chocolate after reading this post, and u will feel good!

My 7 days of positivity!!!

Here comes a much delayed positivity experiment...

Starting today, I will be acknowledging 5 things that brought a smile to my face, things that made me realize that life is not always about the great things, but also about the small imperfect little nothings!

So, here goes my list for the day... (actually i might have some problems in defining my days, since my day kinda starts now in the night!)

1. Rain... amazing weather... lovely breeze, and no raincoat! what better way to start the day!!! For a change I didnt want to take the artificially cooled Metro!

2. No tension of ward leaving (that is a viva that med students have to give to prove that we have attended a clinical posting and have learnt enough to atleast make a list of possible conditions a patient may have- the list usually consists only of the diagnosis that we have seen from the patient's file or worse still- have asked the patient himself! ;P)... I have always been told since childhood- "If you are tension free before an assessment, it means you are either very-very well prepared, or not at all prepared." Have never been the former, but being the latter allows you to enjoy before and after exam!
Btw... what did I learn today in the wardleaving- "Kab, kyun, aur kaise ka gyaan= vigyaan"

3. I was witness to a colorful CP (bad luck, I dont have a camera phone anymore). As a result of a fire that broke out in the Rajiv Chowk metro station and tripped the yellow line of the subway, people (mostly Fuchchas/ freshers) pooled about in the inner circle of CP. On any other day, I would have been frustrated by the crowd, people everywhere amidst the construction debris. But, not today. The weather changes the way u look at the world around u. Everything seemed so bright and colorful around me. People are such a pleasure to observe- the way they dress, the way they speak, the way some are curious to see what happened, the way some are restless to go on with their life, the way some stop and admire their sorroundings... everything!

4. Always look out the window when u take the blue line of the metro. U can see loads... the yamuna (for a change flowing like a true river in the monsoons), the akshardham mandir, the stadium besides it, the games village, and if u look carefully u can see the beautiful structure of the new Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in the distance (besides the humayun tomb), and the symbol of Delhi- the Lotus temple!

5. Came across 2 beautiful quotes:
(a) "Life need not be perfect for it to become great"
(b) "Don't quit while the night is darkest for it is just a while till dawn"

Wow! wrote so much for a change... i did deviate a lot from what i was saying, but that is what i always do- ramble!...

Thanks Sucheta for ur positivity experiment!!!

P.S. sorry for the drab post... will try to make it seem as cheerful as it sounds in my head! (will carry my cam frm tom!)
